Payments and refund policy

How you pay

1. Application fee: $35, paid online when you submit your application. Your application is complete once it is paid.
2. Deposit: $500, due within 10 business days of your offer of acceptance. It holds your place and counts toward your program fee.
3. The rest of your program fee, in two payments, charged automatically to the card or bank account you used for the deposit: the first 30 days after your deposit, the second 30 days after that, and always before June 27, 2027. Your offer shows each amount and date, and we email you a week before each payment.
4. Paying early: you can pay everything that is left at once from your application page, by card, US bank account or, where offered, Klarna.

All prices for US students are in US dollars, converted from the euro price at the fixed rate shown on your offer.

If a payment does not go through

We email you the reason and a link to pay or change your card. Our payment provider also tries again automatically over the following days. If a payment is still not made, the festival may release your place. Payments already made are not refunded.

Refunds

• All payments are final and non-refundable: the application fee, the deposit and both payments of the program fee.
• This includes withdrawing before or during the festival, arriving late or leaving early, not being able to travel, and visa refusals.
• If you withdraw, any payment not yet charged is cancelled, so nothing more is taken.
• If the festival cancels a program, it refunds the deposit and the program fee paid for that program. The application fee is not refunded.
• Scholarships apply only to summer 2027, have no cash value and cannot be transferred.

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation and medical care in Austria.

When a refund is made

Refunds go back to the card or bank account you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days. If you paid with Klarna or another pay-later provider, the refund goes to that provider, which adjusts your plan.
