Meet Hannah Howard, rising senior

Hannah Howard is a rising senior in Vocal Performance at Southern Methodist University and is so excited to be traveling to Vienna this summer! During this festival, Hannah will be appearing as Mars in a world premiere of the new opera, Pluto, and an understudy for Musetta in La Bohème.
Hannah is from Dallas, Texas and studies underneath soprano Camille King and vocal coach Brian Bentley. She enjoys a myriad of artistic activities outside of singing such as composition, piano performance, accompanying, and crafting. Recently, Hannah appeared as La Chouette in Ravel's L'enfant et les Sortilèges and as the First Touriere in Puccini's Suor Angelica, both through productions with the Meadows Lyric Theatre Department. Last summer, Hannah travelled to Siena, Italy for a music festival at L'Accademia Musicale Chigiana, where she performed scenes from La Bohème, Le Nozze di Figaro, and L'Elixir d'Amore, while studying with world-renowned Lyric Soprano Maria Luigia Borsi.
While getting her performance degree, Hannah works as a staff collaborative pianist, as a stage manager for recitals and events, and in the Admissions Department of SMU's Meadows School of the Arts, where she gives tours, sits on panels, and leads recruiting events for the school.
Hannah is so grateful to be attending the Vienna Summer Music Program and is thankful for everyone who got her here!

Come see her perform this July in the Vienna Summer Music Festival!
