Meet Parker Tremaine, oboist

Parker Tremaine is an oboist with a passion for performing music that positively impacts and engages audiences, inspired by her use of music to overcome challenges throughout her life. Currently working as a freelance musician in the Baltimore, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. areas, she is versatile through her performances of many varieties of music. From Western classical music to Balalaika symphonies, she has dedicated herself to adapt as a musician in order to be able to perform as many kinds of music as possible. Tremaine believes in the healing power of music for listeners and performers, and she seeks to reach as many kinds of audiences as possible. She is very excited to perform in Vienna this summer with the VSMF!

In addition to her projects as a solo musician, Tremaine values collaboration and has established and performed with several chamber ensembles over the last five years. She is committed to performing music that is not often heard, with particular attention to underrepresented composers and other non-traditional selections. Further, she has spent the last two years working with several composer peers to develop new works that push the boundaries of oboe playing and classical music.

Beyond her work as a performer, Tremaine has also worked to develop skills in artistic management through her internship with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. She values organization and streamlines necessary logistical information to her colleagues. She has held this internship for the past two years.

Tremaine is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree in Oboe

Come see her perform this July in the Vienna Summer Music Festival!
