Meet Devin Barry, countertenor

Devin Barry, countertenor, is a graduate student at Boston University where he is pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance under Dr. Thomas Cannon. During his first year, he was heard in Bach’s St. John Passion (Alto Soloist) with Boston University Singers. He was also in BU’s production of Florencia en el Amazonas (Ensemble), as well as in Handel’s Messiah with the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston. As a soloist, Devin performed Purcell’s The Fairy Queen and Dido and Aeneas with The Dukes Music at Duquesne University. A New Jersey native, Devin is a graduate of Montclair State University where he studied with Dr. Lori McCann.

Devin gratefully dedicates this performance to his family, whose love and support continue to shape his journey, and especially to his late grandmothers, whose strength have been a constant source of inspiration.

Come see him perform this July in the Vienna Summer Music Festival!
